The Revd Tony Rindl – Chair of Trustees

As well as being Chair of the Trustees I am also vicar of St. Mary's Church. St Mary's has had a long association with the Chaplaincy since its inception in 2004.

Before moving to Watford I was Team Rector in the Colne and Village Team ministry. During the ten years I spent in East Lancashire I was actively involved in a number of community projects. I chaired Colne Connected, a Market Town Initiative (MTI), and through this I helped establish the Pendle Youth Forum and Homelessness Forum for Burnley and Pendle.

I was born in Birmingham and spent most of my life in the West Midlands before I became a vicar. During that time, I was a Cub Scout leader and volunteer youth club leader at the church I attended. I also co-ordinated a holiday camp for children from inner-city Birmingham in conjunction with the Diocese of Birmingham.

Prior to ordination I was a qualified mineral and mining surveyor working in quarry management and construction. Immediately before I trained for ministry at St. John's College Nottingham I was working for the Black Country Development Corporation and I continue to take a keen interest in regeneration and building strong communities.

I like to hike and although Hertfordshire is blessed with beautiful countryside I do miss the hills of Northern England. I also enjoy football and cricket although these days only as a spectator. I am a life-long supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers and on rare occasions will go and watch them play and even rarer occasions see them win.
