The Rev Chris Cottee – Trustee

I'm originally from Kent and studied psychology at Newcastle University with the intention of being a clinical psychologist. But the Lord had other ideas and during a postgraduate year nursing in a psychiatric hospital he started to call me to ordination. I trained at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford and served in parishes in the north west before coming to be vicar of St Peter's Watford in 1991. It soon became clear that my calling to Watford was to be involved in the unity movement of all the churches, and I have served that call as Moderator and then Deputy Chairman of Christians Across Watford, Moderator of Churches Together in North Watford and Garston, leader of Operation Rudolph (Christmas hampers), a Street Angel, and a WTCC chaplain to New Hope.

In my spare time I cycle quite a lot, and I write - a book is to be published in 2017 and another in 2018. I live with my wife, Mary, and elder son, Tom, while my younger son, James, lives with his wife in Nottingham while finishing his postgraduate medical training.

We are mad Liverpool supporters.
