The Chaplain

Richard and his wife Mary have come to Watford from Exeter, where Richard worked for Scripture Union and latterly directed a schools outreach charity. Alongside this he was the Chaplain of Exeter City Football Club for over 20 years.

Now Richard works full time in Watford Town Centre developing the Chaplaincy project and equipping teams of Chaplains to serve in the various sectors of the town.

The Trustees

The Chaplaincy is a registered Charity, overseen by a group of Trustees draw from local Christian Churches. These Trustees, both lay and ordained, are committed to seeing the vision become a reality.

Our partners

A wide range of agencies and churches are partnering in this work. The trust has received significant investment from the Methodist Church and the Church of England , and on a local level we are partnering with a growing number of churches including Pentecostal, Catholic, Free Church and Baptist.

Of course the Chaplaincy also works in partnership with Watford Borough Council, the Town Centre Partnership, local business and agencies. Although the chaplains remain independent from these employers, we are committed to working together to serve the people who visit, live and work in our town centre.
