What are Business
Chaplains?
Chaplains
are concerned with the well being of people at work. We provide a
listening ear and help build bridges of understanding and trust between work,
faith, leisure and society. We are Christians, but the support we offer is
available for everyone who is working in Watford. For many
people, work is where we spend most of our waking hours; we bring our
problems from home with us, and on top of that there are stresses and strains
in the workplace. Chaplains are sensitive to the needs that arise from
situations we all face: family problems, moral dilemmas, stress related to
rapid change and a host of other tensions. We are professional care givers
who can listen and support. We can also help with practical guidance and
support on issues such as weddings, baptisms and funerals. We can help
organise special occasions, and are linked with other professionals, such as
counsellors, and can act as a gateway to wider services. There is no charge
for any of our services.
Chaplains
provide support and services for Christians in the workplace. If you are a Christian
at work, then you might be interested to network with other Christians working in Watford. Find out about our regular meetings and
special events. Check out our on line diary regularly. We are happy to
visit you in your workplace, with management’s permission, to pray with you and to organise
or lead study or discussion groups. If you are an entrepreneur then check out Entrepreneurs Inspired. Whether you are an entrepreneur or a Christian who works in any position in a local business, we have a support package for you, which we will be offering from The Hub, a new Christian run business complex right in the heart of Watford.
Chaplains provide a
focus for debate and discussion, and help companies and individuals engage
with ethical, social and spiritual questions which arise in the work
environment. Whether if on an individual level, or as a company, you want to
be involved in a dialogue on the pressing questions of the day, we can help
you. Contact us to join a discussion, and watch out for our forum meetings.

EI Meeting Feedback.....
Special EI Meeting 'Releasing Talent and Capability’ with Nigel Sykes. Nigel is a Principal Teaching Fellow and Head of the Enterprise Group at Warwick Business School. Over 40 people crammed intoPizza Express to hear an inspirational talk on Bible based business models. Wow!

Business Breakfast Feedback.....
Charles McLachlan gave a fascinating and energising talk on 'Transformational Business'. Christians in business can play key roles in building the kingdom (once their churches release them from being the treasurer!). Charles was until recently a partner in the Advanced Technology division of Anderson Business Consulting. He has worked with YWAM in transformational business projects, and is on the advisory board of the Transformational Business Network. With this background, his insights were really helpful to us all.
